Hvad skal man lave om natten i Phuket by?
Phuket Town’s nightlife might be a little more low-key than the famous Patong Beach, but there’s a good variety of places to go after dark to cater to different moods and tastes. Whether you’re looking to sip on artisanal cocktails in stylish, hidden-away bars, enjoy live music in intimate settings, or explore the vibrant local culture through dinner theatre shows, you’ll find it in Phuket Town. The nightlife scene here is as eclectic as it is dynamic, with options ranging from laid-back venues to chill out with friends to lively spots where the music and energy keep the party going late into the night. Most of these nightlife spots are found in the Old Town area, easy to reach on foot if you’re hoping to do some bar hopping.
The Library
The Library is a stylish cocktail bar hidden away inside a shophouse in the Old Town. Its street entry is deceptively simple, but once inside, you’ll find an eye-catching and colourful place with a vaulted ceiling and a long bar backed by a wall of books. The Library’s bartenders mix and shake their cocktails with flair, and the DJ music gets progressively louder and livelier as the night goes on. It often gets crowded as the night goes on, so expect to find a standing room only if arriving late. The large cocktail menu has a mix of classic drinks, cocktail shots, and signature cocktails like the “Flaming Library Lava” and “Love You All”. You won’t get much reading done at The Library, but you’ll have a good time!

Siam Niramit
Siam Niramit offers an elaborate show, buffet dinner, and a model village that recreates life as it was in Thailand a century ago. Be sure to arrive before the show to take some time to wander through the village, where the unique arts, crafts, architecture, and traditional clothing of different regions of Thailand are on display. The stage show is a spectacular production, with some 100 performers and colourful lights and special effects throughout. Thai history and mythology are brought to life with music, dance, and elaborate costumes. Photography is not allowed in the show. However, photos are welcomed in the village and courtyard areas, where you’ll see demonstrations of traditional activities and music.

2. Papazula
Papazula is a bar and restaurant with a friendly chillout vibe, found at the edge of the Old Town area on Phuket Road. Formerly called the Rasta Cafe, Papazula has a good-sized food menu with Turkish, Thai and Western dishes, as well as a range of drinks to try – those in search of a halal meal will find it here. The bar and dining area are spread over two floors, with both indoor and outdoor tables and a long bar counter to relax at and enjoy the live bands. The large open-air space has been skilfully decorated with a mix of Thai retro posters and décor items to create a classic Thai pub atmosphere. Good for a fun night out with few pretensions.

Rockin' Angels
Rockin’ Angels Café is easy to find if wandering the Old Town streets at night-time – just listen for the sound of a band rocking out and make your way there. Set in a shophouse in the Phuket Old Town’s Yaowarat Road, Rockin’ Angels has been the go-to spot for rock and blues music lovers for over two decades. It’s an easygoing, friendly place serving well-priced drinks in a cosy setting where music memorabilia covers the walls. Various local bands play here regularly, along with the occasional international artist. As a favourite gathering spot for musicians, it’s a common sight to see people from the crowd getting up on stage to perform with the band.

Junkyard Theatre Phuket
Junkyard Theatre Phuket is a beautiful venue staging a range of locally produced dinner theatre shows. The creative, colourful and quirky shows at Junkyard Theatre also highlight sustainability, with all sets and props created from trash collected from around Phuket. Check with the theatre to see what’s playing currently, but productions have included such shows as “A Night at the Junkyard” with cabaret-style acts inspired by Thai and expat experiences, and “Deathtrap”, a witty murder mystery by the American playwright Ira Levin. Junkyard Theatre is on the bypass road next to the IKEA just outside Phuket Town. Dinner theatre tickets include a three-course meal, while show-only tickets are also available.

Quip Hotel Rooftop Bar
Quip Sky Bar is an open-air bar found on the rooftop of the Quip Bed & Breakfast Hotel in Phuket Town (formerly called Pig on the Roof). Found on Phuket Road, it’s a bit outside the main Old Town area, but it offers views of the historic clock tower and some of the Old Town buildings, and the hotel itself has a quirky retro design. Getting to the bar requires a climb up the hotel stairs to the 5th floor, so you’ll be good and thirsty by the time you reach it! They serve beers, cocktails, and food at a reasonable price. A good time to go is 6-7 pm to catch the sunset views or on Sunday evenings for refreshments after visiting the Old Town Sunday Street Market nearby.

PHUKET TOWN NATMARKEDER

Chillva Market Phuket er et af de eneste natmarkeder på hverdage på øen, med en ung og sjov stemning. Mange varer til salg er originale og lokale kreationer: tøj, smykker, sportssko, tilbehør og gadgets. Gå ikke glip af denne chance for at prøve noget lokal mad, mens du besøger. Salte eller søde og farverige snacks er en af hovedingredienserne i markedets succes. Chillva Market blev ved med at vokse i størrelse, og et smukt område blev tilføjet bagerst på det oprindelige marked.

Søndag Walking Street Market
Phuket Sunday Walking Street Market kaldes 'Lard Yai Market' af lokalbefolkningen og er den mest populære attraktion i Phuket Town. Dette 360 meter lange gademarked var en øjeblikkelig succes og tilføjede en tiltrængt begivenhed til den historiske del af byen. Hver søndag fra kl. 4 til kl. 9 (og ofte senere), bliver den engang så stille Thalang Road til en travl gade.

Indy marked
Phuket Indy Night Market er et sjovt, ungt, kreativt lille natmarked i Phuket Town, beliggende på Limelight Avenue, en lille bane ud for Dibuk Road, ikke langt fra den velkendte Raya Restaurant. Det er ikke så populært som det plejede at være, men det er stadig et interessant sted at tilbringe en aften på en hverdag, hvis du er i denne del af byen.
